Many were surprised by the brutalist-inspired architecture of the building on the cover. Even though it looks unreal, it is an actual existing building in Slovakia, Europe.
Etazhi (Этажи, „Floors“), the 2nd studio album by Belarusian band Molchat Doma from September 2018 has a very unique cover picture.
The building on the cover picture is called Hotel Panorama, located in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia, EU. It bolsters with **** rating.
The original hotel PANORAMA opened its doors in 1970 on the occasion of the World Ski Championships (around this time, the cover photography was taken, during the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic). We can be thankful to the Czech architect Zdeněk Řihák. The hotel served guests until 2008. In 2008-2010, the hotel underwent a comprehensive reconstruction and after forty years since its inception, it is once again offering its services to guests. After the renewal, the building has kept its shape.
On the Molchat Doma album cover, the sign with the name of their album in Cyrillic alphabet (Used in Belarusian, but not in Czech or Slovak languages) was photoshopped in.
Songs on the album:
„На дне“ (Na dne, „At the Bottom“)
„Танцевать“ (Tantsevat‘ (officially romanized as Tancevat), „Dance“)
„Фильмы“ (Fil’my, „Films“)
„Волны“ (Volny, „Waves“)
„Тоска“ (Toska, „Yearning“)
„Прогноз“ (Prognoz, „Forecast“)
„Судно (Борис Рижий)“ (Sudno (Boris Ryzhy)„)
„Коммерсанты“ (Kommersanty, „Businessmen“)
„Клетка“ (Kletka, „Cage“)
So the building on the cover and songs, if we consider all the views and impressions on YouTube and Spotify, can be considered the most internationally famous building in Slovakia.
